CASE STUDY: CELEBRATING THE WOMEN OF UNSW
SITUATION
The University of New South Wales wanted to produce a powerful, uplifting video that honoured the incredible contributions and stories of women who studied at UNSW—across generations, disciplines, and industries. The goal was to create a piece that would resonate emotionally with alumni, current students, and prospective applicants, reinforcing UNSW’s legacy of excellence and empowerment.
TASK
77 Productions was commissioned to create a heartfelt and visually compelling short film that could be used across UNSW’s digital platforms and events. The piece needed to:

Celebrate a diverse range of women and their achievements

Reflect UNSW’s progressive values and inclusive community

Evoke pride and inspiration, without feeling staged or overly promotional

Be suitable for use across social media, internal comms, and large-screen presentations
ACTION
We crafted a documentary-style video that balanced elegance with authenticity. Our approach included:

Conducting interviews with alumnae across different fields, capturing their reflections, triumphs, and advice to future generations

Interweaving archival footage, campus visuals, and dynamic portrait cinematography

Using a cinematic, human-first visual style to convey warmth and sincerity

Subtle motion graphics and typography to highlight key messages and names

A bespoke soundtrack that underscored the emotional tone without overpowering the narrative
The tone was celebratory yet grounded—focused on legacy, leadership, and the power of representation.
RESULT
